Red Oak Café in Alvin, Texas, where breakfast dreams come true! Whether you crave something savory, sweet, or a bit of both, Red Oak Café has an array of breakfast options that will delight your taste buds.
Start your day with their delectable Strawberry Belgian Waffles or indulge in the comforting Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pancakes. For those who prefer savory flavors, the Fried Egg & Sausage Panini or Breakfast Veggie Panini are excellent choices. Feeling adventurous? The Kitchen Sink Quesadilla is a must-try. Start you morning right by stopping by Juanita’s Taqueria for one of their delicious breakfast plates! All of their breakfast plates are served with potatoes, refried beans, and an order of homemade tortillas. A local favorite is Migas, which is crunchy pieces of corn tortillas with scrambled eggs and a mixed of jalepenos, onions, and tomatoes. We can’t help but recommend the Barbacoa and Eggs plate, but replace the side of the potatoes for a side order of Nopales. They also offer a delicious lunch menu with items like made-to-order guacamole, mini tacos plate, and fajitas. Jaunita’s Special is a lunch favorite, with two enchilasdas filled with bee, cheese or chicken and one ground beef crispy taco and Queso Chip Puff. They also have Asado de Puerco, which is pork should in red sauce served with guacamole, rice, and refried beans. Enjoy a glass bottle coca cola or homemade horchata with your meal. Juanita’s Taqueria is open Monday through Sunday from 6:00am – 3:00pm.
1820 Coffee House | 419 W Sealy St
If you aren’t a big breakfast person but need your coffee fix before you can start the day then you need to stop by 1820 Coffee House. They offer seasonal drink specials that are perfect for when you’re craving that favorite fall drink or cold summer brew that highlights the favors for that time. If you can’t make your mind up on what to get, then we recommend getting one of their iced coffee flights. Some of the iced favorites have been the Cowboy Cookie, which has Texas Pecan coffee and flavors of mocha, cinnamon, and coconut. If you have a wild hair, you can add the Cold Brew Spritzer to your flight, which is a cold brew with lemonade. If you are just needing a coffee fixed and something to eat it’s the perfect place to grab a latte, and a breakfast treat like a scone, muffin, or cinnamon roll to go as you head off on your adventure around Alvin! They are open Monday through Friday from 6:00am – 8:00pm, then Saturday from 7:00am – 8:00pm and Sunday from 9:00am – 5:00pm.

Grace Pizza & Shakes is the perfect place to stop and eat lunch! They offer some amazing pizzas full of local flavor and flair. A majority of their meat, vegetables, and produce come from local businesses. One example of this is The R-C Ranch Meat Wagon pizza, which has mozzarella, Wagyu meatballs from R-C Ranch located in Brazoria County, pepperoni, pork shoulder bacon, and Italian sausage. A local favorite is the spinach dip starter served in a cast-iron skillet and served with coal-fired flatbread. We encourage you to spend the extra money and add crumble bacon on top. Your taste buds can thank us later. If you are looking for something a bit lighter, try out their Build Your Own Salad. With salad toppings like Wagyu Flank Steak, sundried tomatoes, and a balsamic vinaigrette, you can’t choose wrong. For dessert, you have to try one of Grace’s famous shakes. You suggest Kane’s Cookie Shake, which has vanilla ice cream, milk, crumbled cookies, chocolate, and caramel syrup, plus it is topped with a buttercream chocolate chip sandwich, whipped cream, and chocolate shavings. For those who love craft beer and cocktails, Gordon Street Tavern offers the perfect atmosphere to enjoy drinks and food. In the warmer months, you can enjoy seating on their patio that overlooks the historic downtown and the Alvin train depot. They have 30 taps with mostly local craft beer but do offer foreign favorites like Guinness on tap. If you aren’t feeling beer or cocktails, you can enjoy their house-made root beer or cold brew coffee that they offer on tap. If you are looking for a warm cheesy starter, Gordon Street Tavern offers several perfect appetizers with the Fried Mozzarella Sticks being the local favorite. If fried cheese isn’t your thing, we suggest the Warm Goat Cheese Spread that is served in a warmed cast iron skillet with fresh fruit, crispy baguettes, and cucumber slices. Like most taverns, Gordon Street offers delicious burgers that can be upgraded with locally grown wagyu beef. The most popular is the Jammin Wagyu Burger served with a bacon tomato jam, provolone cheese, and buffalo onion strings. A house favorite is the Go Pig or Go Home entrée, which is a tender pork short rib that is seasoned, smoked, and then cooked sous vide for 24 hours. Where can I pick up an Alvin Foodie Trail Stamp Card?
All participating restaurants should have an Alvin Foodie Stamp Card available. If for some reason one of the participating restaurants do not have a stamp card, you can pick up an Alvin Foodie Trail Stamp Card at the Alvin Visitor Center located at Alvin City Hall, 216 W Sealy Street. You will present the Alvin Foodie Trail Stamp Card to any restaurant you visit on the trail and receive a stamp. Take your stamped card to the Alvin Visitor Center located in the Alvin City Hall, 216 W Sealy Street, to receive Visit Alvin prizes. You must have at least two stamps on the trail before you can receive any prizes. All stamp cards that have been returned will be entered for a chance to win a free hotel night stay and weekend getaway in Alvin.
